GRIEF

Grief is a natural response to loss. It's the emotional suffering you feel when something or someone you love is taken away.
You may experience all kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions, from shock or anger to disbelief, guilt and profound sadness. You may feel like you're going crazy, in a bad dream or questioning your spiritual beliefs. Grieving is a highly individualized experience and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Healing happens gradually, there is no "normal" timetable for grieving. Talking about these painful often confusing feelings of grief can diminish their intensity and put you on the path towards healing. I look forward to helping you find the light in your life once again.

ADDICTION

Congratulations for having the courage to seek help. Addictions to drugs, alcohol, food, sex, shopping or gambling  are very difficult to manage on your own. Or you may not be sure if you have a problem and need some guidance and support. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or other mood disorders and wondering if addiction is a component of these behaviors. I am a licensed addictions therapist and can help you navigate this difficult and challenging terrain. I will help you fill your "tool box" and create coping skills in a non judgmental nurturing environment.

LIFE TRANSITION

Life transitions are usually life changing events that shake our sense of stability. Some examples include divorce, loss of or changing careers, changes in health, loss of a loved one and children leaving home. Counseling can help you accept change and move on with your life. I can provide you perspective and support through out these difficult transitions. As an experienced therapist I can help you uncover ways to cope with your particular life changes.

"THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED UNDERSTAND SUFFERING AND THEREFORE EXTEND THEIR HAND." - PATTI SMITH

My style of therapy is interactive, supportive and compassionate. I believe that each person has their own inner wisdom that may be difficult to access due to the pain they are experiencing. I understand how the trauma of loss or addiction can feel like there will never be any hope, joy or light again.

I received my Masters Degree in Counseling from Northeastern University with a focus on grief and loss. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor and a certified alcohol and drug counselor. My practice has been informed by my work in Hospice as well as my facilitation of Intensive Out Patient therapy groups at a drug and alcohol treatment center.

My own life experiences have given me the

benefit of understanding many of the issues

my clients face.

I provide a safe, nurturing environment to

help you find coping skills to deal with your

challenges and to uncover the light of your

own true self.

Please note I am currently not accepting
